Haji Golam Morshed, nowhere related to politics or even Awami League, was just a very close person to Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. During the liberation movement of Bangladesh, he could be always found with Bongobondhu. Even once the war was over, Bongobondhu had him as one of his advisors for a long time. Even on the important day of 25th March 1971,
Mr. Morshed stayed very close to Bongobondhu. On the saddest night of Bangladesh’s, when the Pakistani military started the first step of genocide, almost everyone went undercover except Haji Golam Morshed. He was arrested along with Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the midnight. He was held prisoner at The National Assembly Building at first, then at Cantonment and in Dhaka Central Jail for the rest of the time. Before releasing him on November, he was immensely tortured by the Pakistani oppressors.
Though the Pakistan army surrendered on 16th December, the family of Bongobondhu was still confined inside the home. With the help of Indian force, Haji Golam Morshed freed Bongobondhu’s family
