Nogorkul, a village in Damiha union of Tarail Upazila of Kishoreganj district.
This beautiful village is located on the bank of a river. Most of the people of the village were Hindus, though there were some Muslims also. In May 1971 Pakistan Army attacked this village. At first, they killed a Muslim man and a Muslim woman. They burned down the houses of the Hindus. Later, after convening a meeting of the Peace Committee, they picked six people from the Hindu community and took them away. The men never came back.
All of the Hindus then took refuge in India's refugee camp. Some of the Muslims remained in the village. They testify that many bodies were floated by the river passing through the village. They could not leave the houses because of the smell of the dead bodies and they stopped eating the fish of the river.
